Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the electrical installation and systems for a large residential project, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

  • Coordinate and supervise electrical subcontractors and tradespeople on-site, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of electrical works.

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.

  • Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and technical submittals to ensure they meet project specifications and client requirements.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking electrical milestones and ensuring timely delivery of electrical systems.

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, other departments, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Monitor and control the electrical budget, ensuring costs are managed effectively and staying within project limits.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges related to electrical systems during the construction phase.

  • Perform regular site inspections to assess the quality of electrical work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Provide technical support to the site team and resolve any electrical issues that arise during the project.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, quality control checks, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure that all electrical works are completed safely, within budget, and on schedule.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as an Electrical Manager or in a similar role within residential construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and power distribution for residential buildings.

  • Excellent understanding of building codes, regulations, and electrical safety standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead electrical teams and subcontractors effectively.

  • Experience with project management, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations).

  • Knowledge of electrical installation software and tools is an advantage.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with residential projects in London or similar areas is a plus.
