Job description

As an Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical installations on a high-profile commercial project. You will supervise electrical contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards while adhering to safety regulations, project timelines, and budgets. You will also need to efficiently manage project data, track progress, and communicate with stakeholders using various computer-based tools and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate electrical installation work on a large commercial project.

  • Ensure electrical work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Manage and oversee electrical subcontractors, providing direction and support on-site.

  • Review and interpret electrical drawings and plans to ensure accurate implementation.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings as needed.

  • Report on project progress to senior management and the project manager, including detailed written reports and updates.

  • Assist in resolving technical issues and challenges that arise on-site.

  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure all necessary equipment and resources are available for the team.

  • Maintain accurate site records, including work completed, any variations to the original plans, and other project documentation.

  • Utilize project management software and other digital tools to track project progress and communicate effectively with the team and clients.

Key Requirements:

  • Gold ECS card

  • SSSTS / SMSTS 

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on commercial construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry regulations.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage electrical teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in construction.

  • Proficiency in using computers, including project management software, MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and other relevant digital tools.

  • CSCS card (supervisor level) and other relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, PASMA, IPAF) are desirable.
