Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all mechanical systems and installations for a large-scale residential project.

  • Ensure that mechanical works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of mechanical systems.

  • Manage and supervise mechanical site operations, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and drainage systems.

  • Review and approve mechanical designs and technical submittals, ensuring they align with project requirements and budgets.

  • Monitor project progress, tracking key milestones and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or delays related to mechanical works.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, risk assessments, and quality control checks.

  • Mentor and supervise mechanical engineers and technicians on-site, ensuring high standards of work and safety.

  • Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers to address any technical concerns or modifications.

  • Ensure quality assurance procedures are adhered to throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Mechanical Manager in residential construction projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, plumbing, and drainage within residential developments.

  • Strong understanding of building regulations and health and safety standards.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in managing subcontractors and coordinating with various teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or building services.

  • Good knowledge of construction management software and tools.

  • Experience with residential projects in London, particularly in Peckham or similar areas, is a plus.
