Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all mechanical systems and installations for a large-scale residential project.
Ensure that mechanical works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
Work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of mechanical systems.
Manage and supervise mechanical site operations, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and drainage systems.
Review and approve mechanical designs and technical submittals, ensuring they align with project requirements and budgets.
Monitor project progress, tracking key milestones and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or delays related to mechanical works.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, risk assessments, and quality control checks.
Mentor and supervise mechanical engineers and technicians on-site, ensuring high standards of work and safety.
Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers to address any technical concerns or modifications.
Ensure quality assurance procedures are adhered to throughout the project life cycle.
Requirements:
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Mechanical Manager in residential construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly HVAC, plumbing, and drainage within residential developments.
Strong understanding of building regulations and health and safety standards.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience in managing subcontractors and coordinating with various teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or building services.
Good knowledge of construction management software and tools.
Experience with residential projects in London, particularly in Peckham or similar areas, is a plus.
