Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Site Manager with a solid commercial background.This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with hands-on experience in managing mechanical installations and systems on-site, along with a strong understanding of project finances, cost control, and contract management. You will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of mechanical site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Management:
Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems on-site, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards.
Commercial Management:
Monitor and control the financial aspects of the site, ensuring project costs stay within budget and managing resources effectively to maximize profitability.
Team Leadership:
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution, resolving issues as they arise.
Client and Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders, ensuring that communication is clear and effective.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, maintaining a high level of site safety at all times.
Quality Control:
Monitor the quality of work on-site to ensure it meets company standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
Progress Monitoring:
Track project progress, ensuring all milestones are met, and report regularly to senior management on project status, including any potential risks or delays.
Contract Management:
Assist in managing contracts and ensure that the commercial aspects of the site, including variations and claims, are handled in line with project objectives.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant professional certifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, or IOSH.
Certifications in commercial management, contract management, or project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CIPS, or MRICS) are desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of [X] years of experience in site management, particularly within the mechanical engineering or construction industry.
Strong background in managing mechanical installations, systems, and equipment on-site, with a focus on large-scale or complex projects.
Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, subcontractors, and other commercial aspects of the site.
Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, installation processes, and site management tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar).
Financial literacy with experience managing budgets and controlling costs on-site.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
