Job description
Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for an experienced M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Site Manager to join our team on a large-scale water treatment project.
Role Overview:
As the M&E Site Manager, you will oversee the mechanical and electrical aspects of the water treatment plant’s construction, installation, and commissioning processes. You will manage on-site M&E teams, subcontractors, and liaise closely with the project manager to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Manager Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the M&E team on-site to ensure the smooth execution of works.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems within the water treatment plant.
Coordinate with other site teams, including civil and process engineers, to ensure integration of systems.
Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Ensure that all work is carried out to the required quality standards and in line with project specifications.
Manage project documentation, including progress reports, daily logs, and any changes to plans or specifications.
Conduct site meetings with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to discuss progress and resolve any issues.
Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and other necessary documentation.
Identify and mitigate risks related to M&E systems, including potential delays and technical issues.
Ensure efficient resource allocation and management, including materials and equipment.
Manager Requirements:
CSCS or equivalent site management certification.
SMSTS
Proven experience in M&E management within the water treatment or utilities industry.
Strong background in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
Extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects, ideally in water treatment or similar environments.
Familiarity with water treatment plant systems, including pumps, valves, filtration systems, and electrical control systems.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors effectively.
Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, including CDM regulations.
Experience with project planning, scheduling, and cost control.
Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues as they arise.
A relevant qualification in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering (HNC/HND or degree level).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
