Job description

As a Testing Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations and performing periodic testing and inspection of electrical systems in residential properties. You will ensure that all work meets regulatory standards and that installations are safe and compliant. You’ll be an essential part of our team, contributing to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining our commitment to high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical installations on residential projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

  • Perform detailed testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality.

  • Use appropriate testing equipment and ensure that all work complies with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

  • Provide accurate and detailed reports on inspections and testing, including recommendations for remedial works where necessary.

  • Ensure all installations are fully functional and in compliance with current electrical safety standards.

  • Issue Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) and Periodic Inspection Reports (PIRs).

  • Work closely with site management to schedule work and ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Provide guidance and advice on electrical issues to site teams and clients.

  • Maintain clear records of inspections, testing, and certifications.

  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are maintained in good working order.

Requirements:

  • Valid ECS card

  • 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (essential).

  • Previous experience in residential electrical installations, testing, and inspections.

  • Knowledge of the latest electrical regulations (18th Edition).

  • Proven ability to perform electrical testing, inspections, and certification to a high standard.

  • Full understanding of electrical health and safety standards and regulations.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time on-site.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A valid driving license (as travel to multiple residential sites is required).
