Job description

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a prestigious long-term new build commercial project. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and has a strong background in overseeing electrical installations on large-scale commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the electrical team on-site, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems and ensure they comply with the project specifications and safety standards.

  • Ensure the electrical work is completed on time and within budget, monitoring progress and making adjustments where needed.

  • Review and enforce Health & Safety regulations on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.

  • Develop and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for electrical works.

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other contractors to ensure smooth coordination and completion of tasks.

  • Monitor the quality assurance (QA) process for electrical works and ensure all installations meet the required standards.

  • Ensure all necessary documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to electrical operatives and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and workflow.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on large-scale new build commercial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and regulations.

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme) certification or equivalent.

  • In-depth understanding of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to enforce them on-site.

  • Ability to manage and supervise electrical teams, ensuring effective collaboration and efficiency.

  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in health and safety or electrical systems (e.g., 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations).

  • Experience in working on high-profile or complex commercial projects.

  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes for electrical installations.
